Tips for Attending Events
For major Uptown events (parades, festivals), use the LYNX light rail or park in a peripheral garage and walk. Street parking is extremely limited and traffic closures are common.
Charlotte weather is highly variable, especially in spring and fall. For outdoor events, always check the forecast and layer clothing. Summer events require sunscreen, hats, and hydration.
Tickets for popular, recurring events (Panthers games, Renaissance Festival, restaurant weeks) often sell out. Purchase as far in advance as possible, especially for weekend dates.
Many 'free' festivals have paid VIP or express entry upgrades. These can be worth it for popular events to avoid long lines for entry, food, or drinks.
Download the CATS-Pass app for public transit and the Charlotte Center City app for real-time event maps, parking info, and restaurant guides during Uptown festivals.
